Jen Wilkin & Tami Heim Forum Discussion Southern Baptist Convention 2019

The Women & Work team loved meeting with 170 of you face to face on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at the Southern Baptist Convention in Birmingham, AL for the Women & Work Forum.

Courtney L. Moore, founder and Executive Director of Women & Work, hosted the event on behalf of the organization. She was honored to welcome author and Bible teacher, Jen Wilkin, who explained what God’s Word teaches about women and vocational calling and Tami Heim, President and CEO of Christian Leadership Alliance, who shared her work story and lessons she’s learned throughout her career.

Jen Wilkin is an author and Bible teacher from Dallas, TX. She currently serves on the staff of The Village Church Institute as the Director of Classes and Curriculum. Her passion is to see other become articulate and committed followers of Christ, with a clear understanding of why they believe what they believe, grounded in the Word of God. She is the author of Women of the Word: How to Study the Bible with Both our Hearts and Our Minds (Crossway, 2014), as well as several other books and Bible studies. Tami Heim has been the president and CEO of Christian Leadership Alliance, headquartered in San Clemente, CA, since January 2012.Her professional career includes executive leadership experience in the technology, marketing, publishing and retail industries. She has served as a partner in The A Group – Brand Development, executive vice president and chief publishing officer for Thomas Nelson Publishers, and as the president of Borders, Inc.

After graduating from Purdue University in 1980, she entered the management-training program at Federated Department Stores and continued to serve in various leadership roles until she left in 1996. At the time of her departure, she was responsible for the operations of both the LAZARUS and Goldsmith’s chains.

Her board experience includes serving on the nonprofit boards of EQUIP, Lead Like Jesus, Christian Alliance for Orphans, Growing Leaders. Christianity Today, and Christian Leadership Alliance. Tami and her husband, Dale, are actively involved in ministry at Long Hollow Baptist Church. Since 2010, they have been leading mission teams to Haiti to love and disciple orphans.
