Women & Work Panel Discussion Southern Baptist Convention 2018

We were thrilled that so many of you joined us in Dallas on June 12 for our first ever gathering at the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention. We loved the wisdom shared by our panelists Mary WileyLauren Green McAfeeKelly King, and Amy Whitfield as they discussed various issues of kingdom building as women in the workplace.

If you couldn’t make it to the panel, we’ve provided the video for you below. Feel free to share or pin it to view later.

Special Thanks

There are several groups and individuals we would like to thank for making our event a success.

First, thank you to B&H Publishing Group for the hundreds of copies of SBC FAQs: A Ready Reference and The Measure of Success: Uncovering the Biblical Perspective on Women, Work and the Home that they generously donated to our attendees.

We’d also like to thank LifeWay Christian Resources for providing hundreds of copies of Journey Magazine, many books used as door prizes, as well as their beautiful LifeWay Women’s catalog.

Thank you to Zondervan for donating 2 copies of Only One Life: How a Woman’s Every Day Shapes an Eternal Legacy, written by our panelist Lauren Green McAfee and her mother Jackie Green that were used as door prizes.

Thank you to Scott Lancaster for filming the discussion, as well as Frances Lancaster for her help with all things technical regarding our website.

Thank you to Kortney Boyett, Angela Witt, Penney Smith, Brenda Moore, Bekah Stoneking, Ashley King and Sarah Morrison for all of their generous help setting up our room and/or greeting guests as they arrived.

Thank you to Diane Nix, coordinator of the Women’s Expo at the convention, who graciously allowed us to pass out close to a thousand flyers, and to Carrie Campbell and Penney Smith, for their support, voice and help in handing out those flyers.

Thank you to Kathy Litton and Jill Waggoner who both offered very helpful advice and counsel as we set out to begin Women & Work and the event itself. Kathy, thank you also for helping us coordinate with decorations.

Thank you again to our panelists for your willingness to let God use you to encourage other women in their work for His sake.

Thank you to Brent Moore, without whose leadership and encouragement, this event likely would not have taken place.

And thank you to King Jesus who is pleased to use finite creatures like ourselves to make much of His Name. May His Kingdom come and His will be done here on earth as it is in heaven, even through our work.
